Trethiggey Touring park Access Statement
Introduction
Our aim is to ensure that all visitors enjoy the accommodation, facilities and surroundings on the park. We are here to help in any way we can during you stay or while you are planning your holiday.
To help you make a choice, here’s an outline of what we offer and the services we provide:
Before you arrive
We cater for tents, touring caravans, motorhomes and offer holiday home accommodation in our own static caravans.
We have a comprehensive website with secure on-line booking facilities and our brochure is available through the post on request. We can send a copy of this access statement if required.
We have fax, email and WIFI internet facilities on the park
Arrival and Car parking facilities
There’s a wide entrance to the park from the A3058 with a tarmac car park area at reception. Once registered at reception, guests enter the park through double gates. There are parking bays around the park, many alongside pitches and our holiday homes. There is also a large car park adjacent to the southern campfield, which is a car free zone for tents only.
Main Entrance and Reception
Reception and the park shop are in the same building just inside the main entrance. There is wheelchair access with low level counter provided. An internet room adjoins reception.
Welcome packs with local information are distributed in reception.
Public areas – General
There are tarmac or gravel roads on the park, with some speed ramps and down lighter bollard lights. The park is divided into two large fields over approx 15 acres, with many trees, hedges and shrubs providing sheltered areas for pitches. Pitches are flat or slightly sloping, with a good mixture of grass or hardstands.
Toilets and showers
There are two toilet/ shower blocks on the park. One has full disabled shower/toilet facilities and the other has two wet rooms with wheelchair access. There is also a family bathroom. There are a total of 15 shower units and 24 wcs. Electric sockets can be used for hair driers etc.
Restaurant/Bar and Take away facilities
There is a ramped path to the bar/restaurant area, access is through double doors. There is a chalkboard menu and printed menus are available. Breakfasts are served in peak season as are evening meals. Take away food is also available. There is a decked patio and grass area outside with more tables and benches.
Laundry facilities
Laundry facilities are available in both toilet blocks with 3 top loading washing machines, and 3 driers. Hand wash sinks are available and ironing facilities.
Shop/off licence
The shop occupies the same building as reception and is on one level. Gas sales are available and WIFI tickets can be purchased for internet access. Cashback is available with shop purchases. There is a low level counter.
Leisure facilities
There are two small games rooms on the park, with video and slot machines and two full- size pool tables. There are TVs in both rooms.
Outdoors, there is a grassed childrens’s play area with swings and slide etc. Safety surfaces are under the play equipment.
Fishing is available on our small, fenced lake and there is a large field for exercising dogs.
Tent/touring facilities
We have 145 pitches for tents and touring caravans. Many are level grass or gently sloping and some are hardstands with grass adjoining. There are more than 100 electric hook-up points, all 16amp. There are numerous water points, dustbin areas and fire points along with two recycling stations. Washing up sinks are available in each utility block. There is a chemical toilet disposal point.
Parking alongside your tent or caravan pitch is allowed on the main touring park. On the tents only area, the car park runs alongside the field with ramped pedestrian access points.
Holiday home units
Our static caravan holiday homes each have their own parking areas and a small area of grass around them. Picnic benches are provided. The homes have either 2 or 3 bedrooms, sleeping a maximum or 6 or 8 people. They all have showers.wcs/lounge and kitchen. Some have full central heating, others have lounge gas fires and bedroom wall heaters.
All our vans are Non-smoking. We do have some in which dogs are allowed.

Grounds
The park is in open countryside, very spacious with some areas formally landscaped and others more natural with tree cover and hedgerows. There are two main fields plus a large exercise meadow and 3 wildlife ponds, one of which is available for fishing. It is stocked with carp, roach, bream and rudd.
The distance from our northern boundary to the southern boundary is 340 metres with the park 140 metres across at its widest point.
Phones/internet
There is a public payphone. Some mobile providers have better coverage than others in this area. We have a small internet room and our WIFI system at present covers about 50 percent of the park for those with laptops. The signal is strong in our bar, café and bottom games room.
Transport/local area
Trethiggey is positioned on the eastern edge of Newquay approx 2.8 miles to the town centre and shops
There is a bus stop for local services about 400 metres from the park entrance and a local minibus company operates into the park on demand. Taxis also service the park.
There is a train station on the Newquay line 500 metres from us, although the train timetable is limited.
